Everything in the comic book world revolves around the comic book publishers and creators. That is why it is important for the comic publishers to be passionate about what they do and work towards producing the best.
Readers can sense whether the creator of the comic book they’re reading is passionate about what he or she has created or whether he/she only created it to meet a deadline. It is vital for the comic book publishers and creator to make sure they create high in quality content. Comic publishers and creators must also be credible, for the reason that the success of the comic book and comic book industry lies in their hands. A DEMONSTRATIONImagine if someone named Sam was trying to sell you a product. This product is in fact a really good product. Let’s say that Sam knew everything about this product. No matter what kind of question you threw at Sam’s way he could answer it before you even finished the question. The only problem with Sam selling this product is he had no passion for the product. Since he had no passion for the product it showed tremendously in how he was selling it. Even though Sam was able to answer every customer question, and with some customer’s interest in the product, no one bought the product. Why? Simply because Sam’s lack of passion for the product showed in how he talked about the product. For this reason the customers concluded it must be a bad product if the person selling it doesn't have any excitement for the product.
Let’s reverse this scenario. Imagine if another salesman named Ralph was selling you a product. The product Ralph was selling was really not that good. Okay, it was one of the sorriest products you ever bought. But you bought it. The difference between Ralph and Sam is that Ralph was very passionate about what he was doing and what he was selling. Every time Ralph spoke about the product it was like he was about to explode with excitement. Therefore you concluded, it must be a good product, he seems excited about it, so... I’ll give it a try. The truth is, being passionate about a product or what you are doing would bring some curious eyes to your doorsteps. Unlike Ralph, we must make it our priority that we are passionate about the best and high in quality products. I gave these examples to show that comic book publishers and creators have that same power of persuasion by the way they talk or write about their comic books. If comic book creators are confident about their work, and know that they are creating comics of good quality, people would definitely want in. With this said, comic book publishers and creators are responsible for their audience liking their work and having access to it. Integrity…
If the comic book publisher wants to start to advertise, market or sell a concept, they must make sure integrity is displayed. Do what you say you are going to do and simply don't do what you say you are not going to do. If you say you would deliver in this time deliver in that stated time. In addition to this, comic book publishers and comic creators must not participate in any gimmicks or scams to try to gain popularity and increase in sales. That has never worked and will never work. Gimmicks and scams would eventually be revealed and it typically results in drawing people further away from the product.
As comic book publishers and creators, let’s not try to make the comic book more than what it is. Even though it is one of the hightest ranked collectibles, it is literature to be read and enjoyed. Let’s keep it old fashioned. The comic book publishers’ and creators’ goals should be to produce high in quality content or materials and be passionate about it. Besides that, comic book publishers and creators need to make sure their work is not used as a tool for gimmicks but that their work promotes good values, shows integrity and can be read and enjoyed by most audiences.
